in performance by CoMA London Ensemble,
conductor Gregory Rose
Tuesday 26 June 2018, 8:00 pm
St. Leonard's Church, Shoreditch High Street, London E1 6JN
The movements that comprise the three Acute Suites were composed between 2010 and 2016 and a range of different instruments may perform each Suite. They were included on the album ‘Acute Suites’ by Paul Burnell in 2017. The use of the word ‘acute’ refers to the relatively high pitch of the instrumental parts.
Acute Suite No. 1 has four movements and is for a flexibly scored ensemble in four parts with optional percussion, optional keyboard and optional bass. The title of the first movement – ’Highlighting’ - reflects the character of the movement.
Celebrating CoMA’s 25th year, the programme will include favourites from the past and works written for this year’s festival, plus a new work by Gregory Rose in his 70th year.
