The Count of Multiple Choices

Paul Burnell

Visited a rehearsal with East London Community Band, Premier Band, on 15th March to hear the group practise 'The Count of Multiple Choices' - a one-page piece dedicated to the group's conductor Jonathan Ticher. The group gave a very spirited and wonderful interpretation of the piece, and were also working hard on their concert programme for their forthcoming concert at St Dunstan's, Limehouse.

'The Count of Multiple Choices' was originally written as a study for ensembles to become familiar with unequal time signatures. The score is presented in two versions - a basic presentation, and a presentation that has suggestions for musical interpretation together with additional numbering of the longer repeated digit sequences.
