The title ‘Suffer a Sea-change’ comes from Ariel’s song in Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’. The titles of the six movements reflect different types of marine pollution, ranging from the wreckage of a ship or its cargo to litter that is accumulating in the major oceanic gyres. The titles are: Flotsam, Jetsam, Derelict, Lagan, Spill, and Gyre.
'Pitch Black' is a text composition for flexible ensemble with optional speaker.
